Cute Penguin Tags

Hello everyone. I just loooooove these adorable penguins from Mama Elephant! I have been waiting to have some time to play with them. I used the stitched tag dies from MFT. Greetings are from Paper Smooches and Lawn Fawn. Nothing too fancy here! Colored with copics, some Wink of Stella and an old stand by - torn pattern paper. Hope you like them!

Another staff member is moving on to a full time position! I have been waiting awhile to use this Paper Trey Ink stamp set. I love the brush strokes mixed with standard text. The flower die is a favourite from MFT and the background die is also from MFT. This is one of my favourite colour combos. Can't get enough of that beautiful pink!

Farewell Teacher

In the midst of Christmas preparations, our staff sends Best Wishes to one of our colleagues who is moving on to another school. Cassandra is full of spunk and these bright colours just spoke to me when creating her card. I used a SSS stencil and inked the background with distress ink. The dies are from Paper Smooches, Lawn Fawn and Memory Box. The stamps are MFT, SSS, Paper Smooches and Lawn Fawn. I had so much fun piecing this together and just love how it turned out. I added the bottom picture after I took my original photos. I decided to add glossy accents over the Wink of Stella pen on the apple -- LOVE the shine and dimension.

A pair of hugs . . .

Hi there. Today I needed a couple of quick cards. I decided to make "hugs" CAS cards. I was so glad I had some leftover pieces from an Online Card Class. I also took the design offered from the class as well. This made making these two cards quick and easy. I love this "HUGS" die from SSS. Of course a dash of Wink of Stella pen adds some glittery delight to both.

For the Happy Couple

Congratulations goes out to one of my colleagues! She is getting married this weekend! September is a busy time for any teacher, but to add wedding planning on top of that . . . whew! Anyhoo, I have been wanting to try out this stamp set from Altenew for awhile and decided to make my own background paper with embossing. Love the results!

I will definitely be using these stamps and doing this technique again.

Thanks for checking in. I always appreciate the visits.

Popping in to say . . .

Hello blogland it is my son's birthday today. Happy Birthday Adam!!! Can't believe you are 14 today!! Hope you have a fabulous day sweetie and can't wait to pop on over to the theatre to see Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles with you and the rest of the crew. Here is the birthday card I made for you to go with the movie theme. I had to have some of the popcorn falling out of the bucket, because I don't know about you, but I can't seem to have popcorn without some hitting the ground before I get to my seat . . . LOL!

I have been waiting awhile to use some of the supplies on this card - especially the cute popcorn items from Stamps of Life! Banner die is MFT, numbers are Lawn Fawn, patterned paper is Lawn Fawn and Avery Elle and the tiny inside greeting is Simon Says Stamp.

I would like to add this card to the following challenges:

Thanks for stopping in - I am off to the movies,

Stretch Your Stamps 2 Day #1

Well so far this class has been amazing as is typical for Online Card Classes (OCC). I have loved all the techniques so far, but decided to do the homework for the one that Kristina Werner taught. The fact that I got two cards out of the deal was awesome. I didn't have the same background stamp as she did, but for this class I am determined to work with what I have. Watercoloring for me is still relatively new, however, with the emboss resist to help, I have to admit I am pleased with the outcome. My background stamp is a gingham stamp from Impression Obsession. For the card design, I stuck pretty close to Kristina's sample, but of course added my own twist. I love the glossy accents on the big you!! Other stamps are from Simon Says as well as the big you die. The heart dies are from Lawn Fawn.

Still loving this flower die!

Hi there,

I am still loving this flower die. It is called Tilth Flower by Memory Box. Absolutely one of my favourites!!! I made two different cards today. One is very similar to a card I did on another post, but this time the flowers (on both cards) are done using the inlaid die cut method. On the second card, I also attempted some copic airbrushing for my background. I have to say I am quite pleased with the results. On that card I added some wink of stella to my airbrushed flower. I think it turned out so pretty!

Glittery Background: Birthday

Hello everyone. Today I have a card using an oh so fun technique that I learned from this post by the amazing Jennifer McGuire. This was my first attempt and 2 of my glitter colours were not glitter ritz and they definitely did not work as well or as easily as the glitter ritz colours, but I still like the end result. I will definitely be trying this again.

2 takes on flower card

Hello everyone. Life has been so busy, that although I have squeezed in many early morning or late night sessions to make a card, I have had no time to post. That changes today. I have two cards made very similarly, but have created two different looks by using vellum to soften one of them. Both recipients adored their cards and as you can see one was for a happy occasion and one definitely sad. It is nice to be able to use the same stamps for very different events.

I would like to enter these cards in the following challenge:

Less is More - Colors of your bedroom (I am actually using colours from my daughter's room).

Two more sympathy cards . . .

I am having to make too many of this kind of card lately. I don't think I ever have made this many in a year before, never mind a month. These cards were for colleagues who lost a parent. Being pressed for time, I made them almost identical. I just changed the width of the border around the flower. This is another favourite stamp of mine from Penny Black. So soft and pretty. I resisted the urge to add any colour and left it stamped in a soft grey.

Inside of both cards:

Hopefully these are my last sympathy cards for awhile. Thanks for stopping in and God Bless.

With Sympathy

I decided to try my hand at watercoloring with distress markers on this CAS sympathy card. I wanted a soft look and decided to add shimmer in the end with my wink of stella marker. The flower is an older one from Gina K, but still love it so much! I also used ivory card stock from Gina K. I rarely use ivory, but thought the occasion was fitting of something softer.

Close up of all that pretty shimmer:
