Heart Melt

Here is a super quick card for today's challenge over at the Outlawz Paper a la Mode challenge. It is an anything goes challenge and I just had to try out this adorable floating hearts die from Simon Says Stamp.

The cardstock is Simon Says Stamp and MFT. The stamp sets are Paper Smooches and Lawn Fawn (tiny heart). I used Memento Luxe ink for the pink snowflakes and Memento Tuxedo Black for my other stamping.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Owl I want for Christmas . . .

Hello everyone! After a month away from crafting, I am finally back! I have missed checking in with a lot of things and am so behind on my cards, but figure I will get a few ones done for my loved ones I will actually see in the next few days.

This card was inspired by the current CASology challenge - knit. There is some fabulous inspiration and I have had this sweet Lawn Fawn stamp for awhile and decided to use it for the challenge. Since I have so much to do, my posts will be short and sweet over the next few days. After all there is still shopping and wrapping to get done. This card has wink of Stella shimmer on the scarf and tummy of the owl as well as the hearts so it has some shine in person that I wasn't able to capture on film. Had to make a matching envelope and inside as well.

Challenges I would like to enter:

Crafty Hands - Seasons Greetings / Winter Theme
Outlawz Challenges - Non-Traditional Christmas

ETA: Woohoo I just received an honorable mention at CASology

Swanky Snow Dudes Tags!

Now who doesn't love a cute holiday tag, especially when they feature adorable snow dudes? LOL! Can you tell I just love this Paper Smooches stamp set and dies? I am sure you will see a lot more of these swanky dudes in the coming weeks as I just can't get enough. These were so fun to make. From the tiny paper piecing to background stamping, die cutting, embossing, adding shine or copic coloring of such small areas . . . it is hard to believe there were so many techniques for such a tiny finished product!

Hey Chickie

Hello all. I am having lots of fun playing with my Paper Smooches stamps lately and a technique from the OCC Holiday Cards 2013 class - day 1. Now although it is hard to tell, my embossing is done using a technique Kristina showed us to create a blank spot for a greeting. I decided on this card to use that blank space for just washi tape to give it a pop of contrast. LOVE how this card turned out.

Had to try to catch some of that sparkle that you can't see in the first pic. :)

Supplies:

Cardstock: MFT, Neenah Solar White
Stamps: Paper Smooches
Dies: Paper Smooches, SSS
Twine: We R Memory Keepers
Embossing Folder: Sizzix
Markers: copic
Washi Tape: from my stash
Other: Wink of Stella, Glossy Accents

Happy 1st Anniversary

A quick post to share a card that I made for friends of mine. The card was actually made for one spouse to give to the other -- I was quite honored to be asked. It was sort of last minute, so I went for a CAS version. So pleased with how it turned out.

Taken to try to show the Wink of Stella and Glossy accents shimmer.

Had to do a matching envie . . .

Some cards are just hard to photograph so they look as good as they do in person. :)

Supplies:

Cardstock: MFT, Neenah Solar White, Gina K
Vellum: CTMH
Stamp: Paper Smooches
Dies: Impression Obsession, SSS
Greeting: Computer Generated
Other: Wink of Stella, Glossy Accents, copic multiline

Happy 65th Birthday Dad!

Thursday was my dad's 65th Birthday (born in the same year and day as prince Charles)! Today is his surprise party! Good thing he doesn't go on my blog :). Well, hopefully there will still be a party, as it is snowing blizzard hard outside. We have 12" so far this morning and it is still coming down. It is the light fluffy kind and it is very pretty.

Anyhoo, on to my card. I created it using the theme of the week for the Outlawz Paper a la Mode Challenge. The theme is stars and/or snowflakes. Ironically, even though I chose to use stars, the fact that it was snowing so hard during the card creation, it is almost like I used both. :)

I only have time for pics right now, I will come back tomorrow to post details.

HaPpY BiRthDAy Dad! This one's for you:

Season's Greetings

Today is the first day of the Holiday Card Workshop and oh the inspiration is sooooo amazing! I right away fell in love with Kristina's card and to some degree totally CASE'd what she did and tweaked things to my own liking. I really like the dry embossing folder technique she showed to create that flat area perfect for a greeting. And last but not least . . . yay! I have finally used washi tape on a card instead of just as a die holder. LOL!

This picture of the front shows the beautiful embossing. Love how it turned out on the kraft cardstock.

Inside: Don't you love the vellum gift card holder? :)

Had to do another photo of the front so you could see the glossy accents and wink of stella on the adorable penguin.

Supplies:

Cardstock: Gina K
Stamps: Paper Smooches
Embossing Folder: Cuttlebug

Cocoa and Cookies Santa

Hello my fellow bloggers! It is time for another Challenge over at the Outlawz Paper a la Mode group. We hope that you join us this week for our anything goes challenge. The DT is featuring Rick St. Dennis images this week. We would love to have you join us. You don't need to use one of Rick's images to play along, but it would be fabulous if you could support our sponsor. The winner of this week's challenge will win 2 of Rick's images. So please come join the fun! I used Cocoa and Cookies Santa for my card. I decided to go with a CAS design because of the detail in the image. This is also my first attempt at doing a 3D image with cutting apart all the separate pieces of the image to give it multi dimension.

Supplies:

Cardstock: X-Press It, Gina K
Digi: Rick St. Dennis
Stamps: Hero Arts
Markers: Copic
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Versamark
Sparkle: Stickles, Wink of Stella pen, Sakura Pen
Other: white embossing powder (?), red gem (Bazzill)

Challenges I would like to enter:

Let It Snow!

Funny that this is the card I made today, because as I type there is a heavy snowfall warning and we are told to expect 20 cm of the white stuff -- eeek! Anyhoo, my card is for the Outlawz Paper a la Mode challenge where the theme is snowmen. Make sure you stop by and play along. We would love to see all your cute snowman creations. Definitely one of my favorite themes and I am hoping to make a few cards this week and make a dent in my Christmas cards.

For this card I used one of my absolute favorite Penny Black snowman stamps . . . isn't is adorable?
